More orthodoxy is always a good thing. And the old Latin Mass is a great thing. It’s a treasure of the faith, a treasure of civilization. I’d love to go to one, and more than one. But the late-Seventies English Mass, at summer camp, surrounded by kids and counselors in summer-camp clothes, is where I really learned the Mass was a Christian worship service. Not that I particularly thought otherwise going in, but that was proof. And I filed it for future reference, and, well, that played its part in my being here now. So I’m going to have relatively little patience with pitting the two against each other.
Okay, thank you; I’ve got it now. Hopefully, someday, we’ll be able to attend a TLM for daily Mass too. Our current parish’s NO is as respectful (for daily) as we can hope for, so that is good for now. Still, on Sundays, we’re in heaven at the Latin Mass. So incredible!
My post was from 12 years ago. Since then, I have learned a lot about the Traditional Mass, and have assisted many times at it. I now belong to a parish where it is sometimes offered, as well as the Dominican Rite, which is similar.
I most definitely prefer to assist at the TLM whenever possible, and wish for it to be more widely available.
Well, I am glad that it has worked out but feel stupid for not noticing the date. Sorry.
“but feel stupid for not noticing the date.”
Of course you do. It has never happened to me.
...what?
Thanks - lol
Although I know many who have; I have never attended a tlm before, one day, I’ll go.
