For those who missed it, here is the account:

W Slaps Down Snot Reporter Hard at French Press Conference

Then, of course, we have b*tchy Ron Fournier's AP account:

Bush in Paris - Travel, late nights take toll on Bush

Then, of course, we have the snotty British take on the incident

Bush jokes as French leader airs criticism

I saw the press conference this morning. President Chirac was quite jolly and actually stood up for President Bush a couple of times. The press is the enemy. Aux armes, mes amis! We must defend our leader!

Aha! Thanks for the links. I did read and post on one of those threads. So the President got Gregory good, huh? Hope I can catch it on tv later.

Basically, I think the reason he was testy is because he has to do something he doesn't want to do. I would imagine the last thing our president wants to do right now is listen to someone whine about trade while he's trying to conduct a war.

Look at the body language. When he was with Putin, they leaned into each other. Bush is either sitting straight or leaning away from Chirac. I don't think he's too fond of being criticized by someone like that.
