Caruthers is a small (about 1200 people) farming community south of Fresno. A couple of months ago, the VFW finished a memorial to community veterans. The wall includes the name of two medal of honor recipients.

In post 34, I posted a picture of a new war memorial located in the farming community of Caruthers. I mentioned it bearing the name of two Medal of Honor recipients.
I have found the links to these two heros who were killed in action, one in WWII and the other in the Korean War. To read their stories, please follow the links. These men should never be forgotten .....

Joe M. Nishimoto is honored nearly 58 years after he died awar hero.

Jack William Kelso

Please remember the cost of freedom on this week-end.

My sister lives near Bowles on Manning and told me about this Memorial at Caruthers. Next time I'm down I'll take a look.
