Yep, I'll bet those medical oxygen tanks could make a pretty nasty kaboom.

As a child, we lived next to a welding shop that burned one night. As the bottles of oxygen and acetylene(sp) cooked off, they fired off like missiles, they did not explode. It was an awesome sight as a kid to see those things fire up in the air and land half-a-block away. One of them went through the wall of the welding shop, and through the wall and roof of my dad's machine shop, landing accross the street. Like I said, it was a great sight as a kid, but scares the hell out of me when I think about it now.

Yep, I'll bet those medical oxygen tanks could make a pretty nasty kaboom. A couple of years ago, exactly that happened when my next door neighbor's house went up in smoke in the middle of the night. I woke up to see my bedroom illuminated orange and hearing a roaring sound. I got up and went to the window- just as one of those tanks she had went up with a deep 'thump'. It made me reflexively duck under the windowsill. The neighbor's house was about 25 feet away from my bedroom.
