A Glance at Indian, Pakistani Nuclear Arsenals The Associated Press

The Indian and Pakistani nuclear arsenals in brief:

INDIA

WARHEADS - Fission type, between 30 and 100, depending on how much available plutonium has been made into weapons.

DELIVERY SYSTEMS - Missiles: Agni II, Agni, Prithvi, with ranges from 1,300 miles to 90 miles. Aircraft: MiG-27, Jaguar, MiG-29, Mirage 2000.

PAKISTAN

WARHEADS - Fission type, between 30 and 50, with cores of highly enriched uranium.

DELIVERY SYSTEMS - Missiles: Shaheen, Ghauri, Chinese M-11, Hatf, with ranges from 1,300 miles to 170 miles. Aircraft: F-16 (Mirage V and Chinese-built A-5 might be adapted).

Scientific American had a great piece (believe it or not...) last year covering the development and capacity of the Pak and Indian nuclear program. Worth going to the library to read -- they cover where their breeder reactors, complete with sattelite photos...
