I think the funniest part of the interview was at the end. Rather was backing out, and Imus said something to the effect of,
"We wanted to let you come on and clear this up, but you just seem to keep shooting yourself"
It was said to roaring applause from the Portsmouth NH audience...and could barely be heard.
I heard the interview and had trouble following what he was saying. He sounded desperate and nuts. I thought it was wonderful when Imus had to beg the audience to be polite and not boo the jerk. Unlike the reception Lieberman got, the audience controlled themselves. Poor old,whiney Joe was totally surprised at the audience's reaction to him. When he said he didn't know if Osama had been offered up to bubba the people went crazy.
