The CBS newsman continued: "Now, in other words, when the attorney general heard a threat, it was decided that immediately and expensively, he would be taken care of on the security front - and I'm okay with that.
You know what, Dan? I could give a good G*dd**n whether you're okay with it or not. You're just flat out wrong. No go crawl back under the liberal rock from which you oozed and shut up.

Sorry, didn't see your Castro/Rather post - your's was better anyway! ;^)
To: Fred Mertz
I don't think you'd want Ashcroft on any flight with you. Since the press gives Arafat better press than the AG, they have pretty much painted a huge target on his back.

I wish he was with me during my 30+ hour journey last weekend from Wellington, NZ to Kentucky. That 12 hour layover in LAX was lots of fun!

Paranoia
Delusions of Persecution
Everyone out to get him
Okay--to revise what I posted on an earlier thread
danny-boy says a man can lie & still be an honest man. In that framework I pose this question : "Can a lyin' honest man be also be unbalanced?"
To: Paul Atreides
I am only paranoid because everyone is out to get me!

Apparently it has never occurred to Dan Rather to publicly apologize for trying to "sully" Ashcroft's reputation by telling a blatant lie about why Ashcroft avoided commercial planes.
Be a man, Rather, for once in your pathetic little life and publicly apologize to John Ashcroft.Exactly! The lying libs believe that they should be able to say whatever they want to about anybody, whether it is true or not, since they're rarely, if ever, made to answer for it. Here's the Captain, falling apart after finally called on an outright lie. It's a pleasure to witness!

Don't talk to me about lay-overs from NZ. With NINE trips from Wellington to LA and Wellington to the Isle of Man, over a two year period, I wanted to personally club every employee of Air New Zealand.

Ashcroft is a pussycat. I think Rather should have an IRS audit.

I heard the interview and had trouble following what he was saying. He sounded desperate and nuts. I thought it was wonderful when Imus had to beg the audience to be polite and not boo the jerk. Unlike the reception Lieberman got, the audience controlled themselves. Poor old, whiney Joe was totally surprised at the audience's reaction to him. When he said he didn't know if Osama had been offered up to bubba the people went crazy.

But I'd had thought he was bigger than that."Now he's quoting Monica Lewinsky!

"CBS Evening News" anchorman Dan Rather accused Attorney General John Ashcroft Friday morning of personally ordering Justice Department aides to "sully up my reputation," Believe me, Blather doesn't need assistance from ANYONE to " sully up his reputation." He's doing a good job of it on his own. Keep up the good work Mr.Blather keep on doing what you have been doing, your doing a great job of it.
To: Paul Atreides
Despite his accusation that Ashcroft was trying to sully his reputation, Rather insisted that the dispute wasn't personal. Yeah, sure. It's ALL personal!

Sounds to me like DAN HAS LOST HIS MIND.

remember though, it has been suggested that the "What's the frequency Kenneth" story was a wild story invented by Dan to explain very real wounds he was bearing on his person - due to some "good lovin gone bad" with a person (or persons) of the same gender. (and that ain't good) He later claimed the guy found stalking outside NBC a few years ago was the "frequency" culprit. No way to prove it of course.

I "rather" like the caracature done on Ross Perot. It would seem to apply to Dan 'Blather' now. Rush should put it in a parady on his show. It would probably send Blather into a hissy fit. He can't stand being mocked.

Struggling to explain what he meant during the earlier broadcast, Rather said that Ashcroft's statements last July about the nature of the threats against him were confusing, Yeah Dan, We find how confusing you are too. You're an un-abashed Anti-American Socialist Leanig Wimp w/ a National Voice. We find that confusing too Dan.The sheer audacity to complain how much a private Jet may cost (as opposed to #42's Mileage and wasted use of Jets)is astounding!Dan you're so Sept 10th!!!
