I should probably not comment also but, I will weighing my words. Ted is the kindest , strongest person I know. He is the oldest of five. My four brothers , my husband and myself have served a total of 36 years for this nations defense. I have seen lazy Journalism ,lies and insults throughout this whole nightmare.Our hopes go up and down daily.Emotional rollercoaster.... Who was Ted's best man @ his wedding? Me , his sister. Why? For one we are very close and for another reason , why insult two brothers by asking one? I miss him dearly as do the rest of the family.Ted says what he is told to say..... Monaco is NOT the US. It is Oh so different. We must play the game. At this point, I couldn't care less if anyone calls my brother a Murderer.I know that he is not.As long as he gets out of prison.Then the truth will come out. Maybe not to everyone.. who knows how safe he will be when he comes home? "Misinformed":DO NOT EVER INSULT MY SISTER IN LAW!!!!! She is the best wife Ted could have. She is one of my Favorite people in this world.Heidi is THE Sister I always wanted when I had none. She Has been through so much. She used to be Shy... NO MORE! And YES, she was Kidnapped. I was there the first time she came home from Monaco. Jumping @ every noise, closing all curtains, still Physically shaking.Three beautiful children are HUNGRY for a father they talk to for only timed minutes each week. One, could not talk when he left. Ted used to save hurt animals he would find. I still do .I learned how from him.He could NOT hurt anyone that was sick.He was my "mentor" when I was in Nursing school. He came to see me in late october 1999. He talked about the Job in Monaco and how he missed his family when he was there. He was not going to do it much longer. He respected EDMOND SAFRA. He wrote a letter of resignation days before the accident.What Nurse would stab themselves in the bowels bad enough for 100 Staples? It is one of the worst places for infection...Ted , I have to say, was a baby when it came to pain. (Like Most MEN)He Could NOT do that.The drug toxicology report from Princess Grace Hospital Said, "Negative "for ALL drugs . Serdet said, he was a drug addict from the start.. Does this put up a RED flag with anyone?PLEASE anyone just coming into this "THREAD" needs to look back a way @ all the facts , questions and Lies. This is very personal.We think about this night and day. Please know that many of us are behind the effort to have this injustice over with.
I myself refuse to be swayed by the phony PR campaign Monaco is running thru the liberal press.

Most of you may know that an attempt to dicredit Ted Maher
and his family members (who are fellow FReepers) has been made.
Both Mrs Maher and Ted's sister, MiMibru, have come onto this thread.
As always FReepers do have the right to their own opinions.
I myself do not believe the phony liberal PR campaign run by the media,
especially the Time Magazine article (with sources from the NY Times) that was linked on this thread.
The number one question I still have is why no trial date set in 2 1/2 years

Monaco: Either give Ted a fair trial now, OR set him free.

Thank you so much for that post MiMibru, I didn't know FReepers here were related and had inside knowledge about this. My prayers are with you and your family.

It took me a very long time of lurking, reading, re-reading and analyzing the many reports on this incident to make some sense out of it. I am convinced that Ted must go along with whatever Monaco wants to give them a face saving out. Once he is back in the land of the free, the truth will come out. Meanwhile, I am happy to see the many people keeping Ted's back covered on the home front. He will be out soon, and he has my family's prayers. Looking forward to hearing about the homecoming party soon. Keep the faith!
