Why oh why oh why couldn't he have outed this jerk years and years ago? How many people have been hurt by not removing Weakland as a Bishop?

Do you think he'll actually be removed now? I mean, I like to think that the Pope will use this scandal at the very highest levels to do a serious cleanup of the American Church, but I have to admit, I have my doubts as to whether he's afraid to shake things up as much as is needed.

I'm not convinced that Weakland is a homosexual. (There doesn't appear to be a consistent pattern ... but then again.) The timing is most curious. Just before the Bishop's Conference! I'm still waiting for someone to turn in Roger Mahony ... or is he too clever to leave a trail.
