Beware the mantra of the "Independent" investigation originally suggested by the DNC Chairman. I've heard such "independents" suggested as Sam Nunn. Seems to me when push came to shove the last time around, Olde Sam went quite partisan on us.

The gutless wonders in the congress will let someone else do it so they cannot get the blame.

IMO the only reason that the DNC wants an investigation is because they believe that the White House will balk. That alows questions to float and keeps the Bush team on the defensive.

Perhaps the Rpublicans should embrace the idea of an investigation, take the ball and run. I'm willing to bet that the DNC knows what an investigation will find and will do all they can to shut it down or stall it.

The DNC doesn't really want an investigation, they just want to try to make Bush look like he doesn't wnat one.
