While everybody is throwing out theories about the Walkman, wouldn't it be ironic
if it was a tape RECORDER as well as a tape player and was on record when whatever
happened happened? Maybe she went to meet someone to give them an ultimatum

Nah. Condit did not kill her. I'm going with John Walsh's theory that this was done by a serial killer of young women in Northern VA, and may be related to the murders of Joyce Chiang, Catherine Garabedian (?forget last name), the Silva girl, and the Lisk sisters

For what it is worth I never believed Condit murdered Chandra
Chandra wasn't a dimwit, she had Masters Degree in Law Enforcement
was doing Internship in prisons
and wanted to be a cop
Seems logical to me that whatever went on at that kinky sex club the high level pols belong to
Chandra became aware of something, someone didn't want her to know
and she realized her life was in danger

Chandra's coloring was dark and her build very petite, so she fits with the general description of those others. The Silva girl and the *very young* Lisk sisters were found with their pubic hair shaved (indicating the killer might be a frustrated pedophile), and found suffocated/drowed in bodies of water. Chiang was found clothed and washed up on the banks of a fast-moving river.

If Chandra's remains were found in or near a creek, I would be more inclined to jump on the serial killer bandwagon.

I've had ambivalent feelings about Condits involvement in her disappearance. Mostly, I think he didn't kill her - but that he is a craven bastard who knew where she was going, was going to meet her, and was too concerned for his own neck to do anything or tell anyone when she dissappeared. I think he was well aware that he would be a natural suspect, and even if he escaped that , the scandal could end his career.

He was a nasty little creature when gainsaid or pressured,however, so maybe he did wring her neck.

Actually, I don't think we can be sure of any of that yet, whether she was killed there, dumped there, when...It's going to take some good investigative and lab work. Here's hoping that the DCPD doesn't mess it up on purpose.
