Two members of the Gideons, the Nashville, Tenn.-based group that places Bibles in hotel rooms, had planned to distribute them to students at the Pine Street School, as they had done each spring since around 1990.

But after a parent complained to the American Civil Liberties Union, and the ACLU wrote a letter to the district, the Gideons were notified by Wayland Union Schools Superintendent Thomas Tarnutzer that the distribution was off.

So, again, we have ONE person dictating to everyone else what they can and cannot do. No more Bible distribution (which had gone on for 11 years) because one person objected. One.

And she could not simply say "No, thank you," oh, no. She had to make sure ALL kids are denied the Word of God.

As someone else suggested, stand on the sidewalk and hand them out anyway. Let this selfish, arrogant woman have as much of a spaz as she wants to, and be told nothing can be done about it because they are not on school property. There is nothing here illicit or illegal. Just the Holy Bible. If you do not like it, madam, just remember nobody is forcing you to own or even read it. And if your child a few years down the road is into all kinds of trouble and you do not know why or how or what to do about it, go ahead and refuse to see any correlation.

"If you want to see kids live right, stop handing out condoms, and start handing out the Word of God in schools!" --- Carmen, "America Again"
