Interesting that you answer a question with a question.
I am fine.
Are you OK?

I have two things to say...
First in regards to: "Mr. LaFountain specializes in beavers, which abound in the Bay State."
Ok I could do 5 minutes on this alone...
And second: What book?

It's not just an out-of-control white-tailed deer population that people increasingly love to hate. Why hate'em? Just shoot'em and eat'em.

His voice mail also fills with pleas for help against attic-dwelling squirrels, Don't these people know what Brunswick Stew is?

I live 30 miles NW of Boston on a one-acre plot. I am surrounded by woods on three sides and often see deer, wild turkeys, and foxes in my yard. About a month ago, I put some bat houses up in the trees behind my yard (to control mosquitos) and there are fully occupied. After sunset tonight, I could hear them flying about. Also all kinds of large birds which I will have to consult a book to identify.
The author is right about the eastern part of the country being mostly forest. There is far more forest around here than "leafy suburbs." Everytime I fly out of Boston, woods is pretty much all I see. The environmentalists and overpopulation nuts have no idea what they are talking about. We have 280,000,000 people in this country yet we could easily support 10,000,000,000 and still have plenty of woods and open spaces.
