Huh? If God is the source of morals, then if tomorrow He declares that slaughtering your next door neighbor is all right, would you still not consider the act immoral? If you understand the act to be immoral even if God declares it to be right, is this not indicative that morals exist apart from God? A.W. Tozer, in his book *The Knowledge of the Holy* has an excellent chapter on the immutability of God. The entire book is an excellent read and one I highly recommend.

if there is an uprising by the subjects of the dictator, then what he is doing is immoral. our society will view Castro as an immoral man, while some in the Cuban society will view him as a moral man because they either believe it or are afraid to say otherwise. What is moral varies from society to society. Not according to libertarians, which was my point.
Again, what you've described is a morality defined by "whatever I (or we) can get away with, by whatever means."
In that sense, your definition requires us to conclude that the Constitution is not grounded in "unalienable rights," but rather in the power of the government to enforce the will of the rulers. Again -- totally contrary to libertarian thought.
I happen to disagree with you (I believe that the basic elements of morality are revealed to us by God). However, I do give you a great deal of credit for taking a logically consistent position, as opposed to the illogical claims made by the "atheist libertarians."

If I may add, an unwillingness to to condem the plundering, forced labor and extermination of Jewish people in NAZI Germany, while remaining consistent with the premise, reveals more of a severe dysfuntion of moral cognition than anything true and objective about morality itself.

And why in heavens name was Darwin laid to rest in a cathedral?

Of course, I find it wrong. I condemn it. Did I say that I did not?

...and when the evidence doesn't prove the theory (or hypothesis), either the hypothesis is thrown away or is modified. But even at that, the modified theory must still stand the test of the evidence. That's the scientific method. How has evolution (or punctuated equilibrium, for that matter) stood up to the evidence? It can't, because it cannot be observed and cannot be replicated in a lab.

Everything good to my heart's content. Now that's nice but try doing this for an eternity. I contend that you get bored after some time.

Of course, I find it wrong. I condemn it.I'm glad you do, but in so doing you cannot remain consistent with your definition that whatever society says is right. If there is no moral law above society, no external standard, then that society cannot be judged. To remain consistent in your view of morality you, an outsider, should remain silent in the face of the mass slaughter of Jewish people. It is your own view of morality that dictates that you are wrong as an outsider for opposing the holocaust. Your view also dictates that Germans who resisted were morally wrong, because they had a moral obligation to obey their present society's standard.

Of course, I find it wrong. I condemn it. Did I say that I did not? On what basis? Who are you to argue about the moral decisions of another society, if that's what they decide they needed to do?
