If Clinton were in Bush's place, I would be defending him. I have second-hand reliable knowledge that there are several possible security threats reported to the President every single day -- usually 7 days a week. And these are just the most credible ones that are sifted out of a hundred or more threats per day that the State Department and intelligence agencies get wind of. It sounds as if the President took appropriate response based upon the quality and specificity of the information received.

Funny how Little Dick Gephardt isn't concerned about Clinton turning down at least one opportunity to have bin Laden jailed. Oh, and Clinton frequently skipped his daily security briefings.

It's not the messenger I disagree with altho' I can usually find a lot with which to disagree with Dashel. I believe that it is a legitimate question. We have an intelligence committee in the Congress that is looking into the matter now. Why not let it run its course and then decide if there are other questions or even these that have not been cleared up. Dashel wears me out with his new 'grave concerns' day after day. Does he believe the intelligence committee is incompetent and cannot find the answer to the questions he presents? How much good did his news conference do today? Did it answer the question? Did it get closer to finding new information or did it just give him today's opportunity to raise another grave issue?

There are legit questions and the need for quick answers is critical. But the way these slim-bucket copperheads in the senate and the media are spinning the issues makes me wonder if it isn't time to repeal the first amendment!(jus' kiddin', y'all). I've never been so mad at the press and the demoncrats as I am right now! If the people fall for their lies this time and lose faith in the President as a result, I may have to strangle something!
