There was a report on Brit Hume's Special Report program detailing Democratic accusations of Bush Administration midhandlement of the situation prior to 9/11, after the report mentioned yesterday. They had clips of Gephardt and Daschle's response to it, but then said that later in the day, Bob Graham and Joe Lieberman had moved away from accusations of mishandlement.

We used to get 6 papers ... some daily , some weekly. We decided to stop taking most of them, and I don't miss them at all . I don't know why most people bother with them anymore, especially if the have a computer.

I stopped watching the nightly news, on CBSABCNBC long, long,long ago. I just watch FOX CABLE now. : - )

And why aren't the lib-media pundit's spewing about the fact that "General Clinton" bombed an aspirin factory(the Monica cover-up)trying to kill obl(1998?), he must have known "something in advance" also, hmmm? Did he share that information? As I recall he didn't even allow Bush to setup a transition team because of the election fiasco, worrying more about politics than the protection of American citizens.

Government has one job(well, is suppose to have only one job)and that is the protection of the citizens. They all failed(and continue to fail through illegal immigration policy, minimum wage airport security, "peacekeeping" forces spread out all over the world while our own country is threatened, etc.) and should all be toasted over the coals in an "enron hearing" type setting. Instead they continue to spend out the ying-yang and give out foreign aid by the billions when the economy is slow and in debt and then pat themselves on the back and give themselves pay raises. Sad.

This attack by the dems, and that IS what it is meant to be, is the equivalent of a parent knowing that there were gangs in a neighborhood, and if the Dad hadn't been driving that car that night, perhaps his son and daughter wouldn't have had a bomb land in their laps while riding in that car, and they'd be alive today.

It is sick what the dems are trying to do with this "connect the dots" strategy, and many will look at it as it is...a plot to blame and discredit. To watch the anchors and guests on hardball and msnbc and cnn distort what happened in this case i.e. keep calling the strategic memo a "warning" when condi had made it absolutely clear what it was, just made me white hot mad. It was as bad as watching Gore talk. But I hate to say this, I think stuff like this repeated over and over erodes the trust in Pres. Bush. It was like that with Ken Starr, by the time the slimers got thru with him he was just toasted. It sickens me but I am so fearful that these slimeballs will start to hurt Pres. Bush. If they are successful, there is no hope for us at all. This truly frightens me. The populace can be suckered, we saw that with that Psychopath Clinton. I worry about the media and the dems inflicting harm. It is nite here and still the pundits and anchors are acting like Bush is a traitor. Even after all day hearing from Condi Rice and Ari.

The stupid dems probably did a poll within 5 minutes of the first round of their targeted attacks today and when the results came in, they surmised that pointing their ridiculous, dirty, lying fingers at GWB wouldn't fare well for them after all. Golly, the Democrats, despite their infinite intellectual capabilities, didn't realize that accusing President Bush of permitting the attacks to occur, and thereby permitting 3000 Americans to be murdered, would be both an indefensible and unpopular position. I guess moronic Cynthia McKinney has a bigger following among her colleagues than we realized. So, today is another day when Democrats try to attract votes by attacking the President, rather than by developing and presenting viable and effective policies. No party can continue like that forever, and I hope, therefore, that the disappearance of the Democrats will occur sooner rather than later.

Goebbels once said that there is no lie so stupid that after constant repetition it won't be believed. All the Left needs to do is to let their anchor / reporter buddies keep repeating the lie that it was a detailed warning and sooner or later, it would become part of conventional wisdom that Bush knew precisely everything that would happen on September 11th.

That's why I'm urging everyone to keep an eye on the news media and be prepared to raise hell (phone calls, letters to the editor, faxes, etc.) at any form of distortion, no matter how innocuous it may seem. Deny them the pleasure of inflicting a death by a thousand cuts.

Don't get mad. This is the way they are. You should realize that the volume of their vitriol is a great indication of how desperate they are. They have no issues that are resonating with he public, and it is less than six months before the mid-term elections.

This is another ploy that will work with very few (very ignorant) people these days. [Goebbels: (paraphrasing) Tell a big enough lie, often enough, and they will believe you.] But if you have been observing every attack against Bush, this tactic has not worked once! Clinton was able to get away with this due to his person "charm" (although only "soccer mom's were able to perceive this in him) and the complicity of the leftist media, which gave him cover and plausible deniability. In Bush's case, these spurrious charges are vbeing quickly defeated by refuting arguments, and so they are not being carried forcefully by the media beyond day one. The dims are in desperation, hoping that at least one piece of spaghetti sticks to the wall.

Don't forget the phenomenom of the "news cycle". Like a storm, most news blows by fairly quickly, especially if it is without substance. It takes a recurrance of substantial evidence of wrong-doing for true harm to occur. With President Bush, this just ain't gonna happen, especially over this issue. I think that the one thing that Bush did that was superb is that he brought "himself" to the office. And his character, practices and judgements, including those of the fine staff that he brought along, will hold up just fine under scrutiny. This latest assault by the desperate dims will have a 1-2 week lifecycle. There will be a great fury for a few days, and then a number of accusatory (J'accuse!) articles in the Sunday papers, which will be followed by two weeks of vain attempts by the dims to convene "investigatory committees" in the Senate and Congress. Once everyone discovers that there is "no there there", his "issue" will be gone from the radar screen by Memorial Day.
