You got that right. I ride usually about 1500 miles/year, and there are more than enough ignorant jerks on the road to suit me. Seems like the dump trucks are the worst. Most times they have plenty of room to move over, but they choose to miss you by 2 feet. They see bicycle, they get road rage. Idiots. Just as bad though, are the pack-rider bicyclists who hold up traffic. They are also ignorant, arrogant jerks. I'll stick to riding alone, or in single-file small groups.

This is a prophetic picture based on the principle of inasmuch as ye did it (or did it not) unto the least of these, ye did it (or did it not) unto me. Mt 25:31-46.
In a narrow sense, if (and there is reason to consider this scenario) Steele was a double agent for the forces of darkness and was hired in to do a less than good job for Joanne McGuckin and the Christines, then he is that yuppie on a bike and he is a betrayer, a despiser of them that are good and a hypocrite and shall receive a hypocrite's reward: When he calls for help, God will not answer.
In a broader sense, America, the yuppie on the bike who lost his way, fell off the path, who traditionally prefers his own thing and has no time for the cares of downtrodden and persecuted such as widow Joanne McGuckin and her five children or Brian and Ruth Christine, the tip of the round-up. That America is cruising for a fall or a wreck pictured in all the recent train wrecks. That America, because it would not hear when the Lord called, will not be heard by the Lord when it falls. When she calls for help, God will not answer.

LOL Bump!
It's already illegal to ride after dark without lights. A $10 headlight could have saved this clown a lot of grief. And thanks to the poster who pointed out that he was riding on a pedestrian bridge- those kids who laughed at him probably thought his accident was a bit of poetic justice.
I can't figure out what the problem with either side of the bike/car war is. I've been biking to work for 20 years in city traffic, and not only have those years been accident-free, encounters with rude/aggressive/homicidal motorists have been extremely rare. Why? Simple. I stay in my lane, signal turns & lane changes, stay off sidewalks, and at night I'm lit up like a christmas tree. Most motorists only get nasty if you get the adrenaline going, which tends to happen if they think they nearly killed someone. Don't scare 'em and they leave you alone.
I rode my bike to work - one less car on the road. Less traffic for the rest of you. You guys should be thanking us :-)
