I respect Morris's political instincts, and as much as I hate to say it, this article makes sense.....However, I will continue to fight for immigration reform and English as our official language.

Personally, I'd combine the official language and the immigration reform with this. Go for a package deal. Not perfect, but it sounds like part of a workable plan. It'll satisfy most everyone, except for the fringe elements on both sides.
