Thank you, lowbridge, for always sending these articles our way to keep us informed. Unfortunately, it is usually bad news and misinformation. At least Will still has a voice, despite the Cokie, Sam, and steeping in awfullness thing.

The Kellerman/Reay "study" was published in the New England Journal of Medicine in 1986, and even though it's been thoroughly discredited, we still hear the results quoted as gospel. Expect the same with Bellesisles.

Since major media aren't going to lend any gravity to the seriously flawed methodology in either of these masterpieces, it's up to people like you and me to relay the real deal.

So that moron has never figured out that guns were plentiful, easily accessible, and commercially available to CHILDREN in stores, magazines, and catalogs within the last 40 years... and those 'symptoms' were totally absent.

The Court survived, but the records did not. They, not the Court, were destroyed - by flooding, IIRC.

even the flip-flopper David Brock?

Brock is not a conservative, and certainly was never a scholar. To call him a journalist is stretching things.

Re: your #10

I view with ongoing pleasure the cratering of AOL/Slime-Warner stock values. It couldn't be happening to a nicer bunch.

But, but, Brock was a liberal, then a conservative and now again a liberal. He's also a liar. And I *totally* agree that he's no scholar and that it's stretching the truth to call him a journalist. He sorta reminds me of a younger Clinton. What say you?

You're right, as evidenced by the hysteria in academia over Thomas Dilorenzo's book on Lincoln. FR's resident marxist "academics" are having seizures over it as we speak. Lincoln is the one republican hero of thousands of democrat communists in academia and no criticism of him is allowed.

Its critical apparatus is working. Scholars and their journals are doing their duty, which is to hold works of scholarship up to the bright light of high standards.

But only after Clayton Cramer and other pro-gun scholars loudly noted the non-existance of the emperor's clothes. It then became a matter of either cleaning house, or having all of academia shown to be members of a conspiracy of intellectual fraud

History is just the tip of the iceberg. What about the departments that are designed specifically for leftist ideology?

The humanities are just pathetic right now. If their academic standards were applied to mathematics, I could publish everything I've thrown into the wastebasket over the last 5 years.
