As a member of an Assemblies of God Church, I can tell you that we do not spend our time calling the Pope the "Anti-Christ", any more than we spend our time worrying about the heads of the Greek or Russian Orthodox Churches. Actually, we feel a great deal of sympathetic pain for what faithful Catholics must be going through right now.

Of course, our doctrine states that the true membership of the church is invisible and known only to God, and we expect it includes members of many denominations including many Catholics.

And there you have it. It was rude, unchristian and uncatholic for Sinkspur to paint our seperated bretheren with such a wide and bigoted brush.

Ignore his comments, my friend. He doesn't appear to be one of us. Peace be with you.

Most Protestants believe that the 'church' referred to by Jesus meant the body of true Christian believers worldwide. For Protestants, that includes Catholics. Protestants and Catholics have far more in common than not.

How do you reconcile the invisibility of Christ's Church with the following passage:

Matthew 18:17

If he refuses to listen to them, tell it to the church; and if he refuses to listen even to the church, treat him as you would a pagan or a tax collector.

Glad to hear that the Fundamentalist Christians don't think we faithful Catholics are evil. I always suspected that it was only a few individuals, just like there are a few individual Catholics who think Fundamentalist Christians are nuts. I definitly do not have that view point, we are all Brothers and Sisters in Christ if we have accepted Him as savior, the rest is just details. Orthodox Catholic signing off. God Bless
