**One cannot agrue with the fact that more than a few Israelis have been deported over involvement in things that don't quite pass the smell test.

That's what I mean. Simple facts become the fodder for paranoid conclusions about Israelis.

I think the problem is that no one has gotten solid explanations (from either US or Israeli officials), that would stop people from allowing their imaginations to run wild.

The officer grew suspicious, however, when one of the men produced only an international driver's license and an expired visa and the other could show no ID at all, Russell said.

You can still rent a truck with nothing but that? No credit card? No passport? As I said before, Ryder may have some 'splainin to do. Start by disclosing who really rented that truck, since I don't believe it could possibly be either of the guys inside it.

Not sure I buy the bit about the cigarette lighter, either, but thanks for posting the follow-up.

I know someone who knows someone who works at the Bremerton Shipyards in Puget Sound where the nuclear subs are kept.

FWIW, the nuclear subs are kept at Bangor, which is wayyy across the peninsula from Bremerton.

Now you can sleep at night....

Doubt it, the antiwar editorial thread will be going by tonight. You'll be reading about this for months.

Wonder if the FBI is involved, all these bogus denials.

There is even an arab Israeli member of the Knesset
There are 10 Arabs and 1 Druze out of 120 members of Israel's Parliament.

You took what I wrote out of context. I said "there is even an arab knesset member who called for the destruction of Israel." I haven't heard of any jews participating in arab democracy to bring down the system. In fact, I haven't even heard of Arab democracy.

Is this what we will see if our support for Israel does not improve?

In what areas would you like to see it improve?

"there is even an arab knesset member who called for the destruction of Israel"

I see that I did for which I apologise but I read it as;

There is evan an arab knesset member (implying that there is only one) who called for....

Odd though that the FOX News story claimed the dog detected explosives on one of the men, and that this new story doesn't even give that part of the story passing mention.

I suppose the man might have rubbed the cigarette lighter all over himself.

It makes sense that we'd train dogs to sniff for explosives and develop tests for explosives that could be misled by such a common item in an automobile such as a cigarette lighter, doesn't it?

I heard that Arab cabdrivers in NYC were honking their horns and jubilantly shouting "Allah Akbar!" to each other on their cabs' radios while the WTC was burning on 9-11. A friend told me this, and I have no reason to doubt it. And that there was a Muslim Pride Parade by that big mosque in Chicago, too, and they were burning the American Flag.

None of that was reported in the biased media. Instead, there is a barrage of anti-Semitic stories like this by Karl Kamwrong, on Krocks (Full of Sh!t) News, and there is a constant stream of drivel about how the "Palestinian" (who technically don't really exist) ARAB TERRORISTS should be rewarded with a state!

I still see reason for alarm. Something is going on..... middle easterners with expired visas, suspicious mannerisms, and midnight delivery runs out of Canada should not be accepted as normal.

Thanks for the post.

I agree! This case screams for a much closer look by the FBI. Is the FBI so overworked in the NW, that after only a few days, they take a pass on something as fishy as this?

Another interesting tidbit toward the bottom of the P.I. article, that one would think the reporter would have at least picked up on:

Quoting the INS agent "the trucks are inspected at the Canadian border and are presumed safe."

Right! The inspection was so thorough, that they didn't even detect that one of the two got through without a valid visa! And a smalltown Cop immediatly picked up on it.

Sure fills you with confidence in our much vaunted "Office of Homeland Security", doesn't it?

IMO, that Oak Harbor Cop should get a commendation for his, or her vigilance.

The item does not give the names of the "Israelis." A previous mention of suspicious Israelis gave Arabic names. Remember there is a considerable number of Arabs who are Israeli citizens. Some of them in Israel have indicated that they support the Arafat Arabs. But they are, indeed, Israelis.

Don't you think that in this country, with media and politicians that love Israel so much, if those men were indeed Palestinian (or may even be suspected Palestinians) it would have made a much MUCH bigger headline splash?

LOL, how funny. It says that NOW but it sure didn't say it last night. Go to my post at #46, I copied & pasted the entire article as it existed at the time.

As did I. Your post is not the entire article. Moreover, the original story very clearly talked about how explosives were detected on one of the men:

A bomb-sniffing dog first detected explosives on one of the men and inside the truck. High tech equipment was used later to confirm the presence of TNT and RDX plastic explosive.
So not only are you wrong about having copied the entire article to this forum, but you're also wrong about there being no mention of explosives on one of the men.
