Whatever they call it; Vortex Ring, Stalling one Asymmetric Rotor or Settling with Power (as we used to call it in Hueys), it is not something you need in a dusty landing zone when the bullets are flying. The only way to get out of the condition in a single rotor craft is to have some altitude in order to get some airspeed. With one side doing it low to the ground, it's roll-over time.

Settling with Power

Yeah, I loved that euphemism too! It sounds great, much better than "settling without power" or "fresh out of ideas." Then when you found out it meant "everything's working fine, but you're gonna crash anyway," appreciation for those political marketing types went down the toilet....

At least in fixed wing, it was "behind the power curve," which didn't sound like a good place to be, and it wasn't.
