WHY RUSH IS DISGRUNTLED (Bush is advancing the Democrats most liberal agenda )

WHY RUSH IS DISGRUNTLED

On Monday's show, the Doctor of Democracy made a sad diagnosis: "If the Reagan Revolution is not dead, then it's dying." If there was a model that the Bush administration used in establishing itself, it was the Reagan presidency. But now Bush is advancing the Democrats' most liberal agenda items - something particularly frustrating at a time when Bush's popularity would make it easy for him to recruit new conservatives.

Many of you have been critical of Rush's reactions to Bush's actions on spending over the recent months, and we took more calls of this sort on Monday - people who'd convinced themselves that the farm bill made sense or that Bush had some grand strategery at play. Now, Rush could throw his beliefs out the window for a day or two and say things that you might want to hear - like when he endorsed Clinton back in 1992 - but that's not what he does.

Rush can only give you his honest reaction, even when he doesn't like those reactions. That's honesty, folks, and it goes to disprove a key criticism many of the nation's liberals have made of Rush over the years. They've said that Rush is a party hack, and that he'd support the Republican Party no matter what they did. They charged that the EIB Network was simply a tool, that we were in daily contact with the powers that be to get marching orders. Well, that has pretty much been dispelled here: Rush is disgruntled.

I want you to be focused upon my following comment: politics is not the realm of religious beliefs; those that consider some sort of synergism between the two are simply fooling themselves.

I want you to be focused upon my following comment: politics is not the realm of religious beliefs;

If you knew what the word "religious" meant you wouldn't say that.

From Merriam-Webster Online

Main Entry: 1re·li·gious
Pronunciation: ri-'li-j&s
Function: adjective
Etymology: Middle English, from Old French religieus, from Latin religiosus, from religio
Date: 13th century
1 : relating to or manifesting faithful devotion to an acknowledged ultimate reality or deity

I also suspect you don't know the meaning of "politics." One's attitude to how one should be governed is obviously going to be guided by one's attitude towards "ultimate reality"

Regardless, one day I pray you will find peace with the wisdom of Bush v Gore.

Being a Proud American Citizen, I need no government other than a smal one to ensure the sanctity of my nation. So far, all the welfare has failed me.

And that is a relgious belief -- one in which I generally share.

So far, all the welfare has failed me.

It's failed everybody -- except for the government leeches who keep power by keeping others dependent on them.

Any doubt Rush was 'right' all those years you were listening and enjoying? Yet now he is challenging your set of beliefs about one man and suddenly he is wrong?

No, Rush is not wrong. Rush is right as usual. Rush will be conservative til death. Bush?

Keep religious beliefs out of politics and you just may be able to re-create the argument about our nation concerning our liberties.

Hey buck. There is seperation of church(religion) and state on the one hand, and on the other there ain't. The status quo is a moving target. While God is not allowed in our schools today, religion still controls events, like in Georgia on sunday...not saturday mind you when Jews worship the sabbath...just sunday when the Baptists worship the sabbath. Sorta misaligned if you think about it.

But more to your point, religion and politics go hand in hand. For some, politics is a religion. For some, religion is a tool utilized by some politicians. For some, politics is defined by religion. Still for others, religion is defined by politics.

Bottom line, it is impossible to segregate the two except in our public schools and other public places when convenient for both. But the two are eternally married for now. If not, I could pick up a six pack from the ripmart here in Georgia on sunday for the afternoon barbecue. But the Baptists say I can't and the politicians agree.

So much for the seperation eh? Yea right. Just when convenient for both.

If you're talking about our Founding Fathers, religion very much guided their politics whether in writing the Declaration of Independence (That all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator . . .) -- by the way, do you know why the Liberty Bell is called that?-- or the Constitution, where they prayed for guidance using public money to pay for the minister.

I don't think you object to "religion" in politics. I think you object to my religion in politics. And, no, my religion will continue to guide my politics. But as I said earlier, don't despair. There are a lot of people who think like you -- especially in California -- and you very well may end up keeping Gray Davis for another term. Simon, by all accounts, pretty much shares my religious views.

You're right! If only Ezola Foster was vice-president... errr... scratch that.

Seriously, third party politics is a joke and finished historically. The closest anyone ever got was Ross Perot, and that would have been a disaster.

McDonalds, Burger King, Wendys, Sonic, Whattaburger,Dairy Queen, and Ednas...Dominos, Pizza Hut, Pappa Johns, Donatos...Applebees, O'Charlies, Longhorns, Cracker Barrel...Montereys, Los Reys, Taco Bell...Dragon House, Imperial China, China Coast...Morrisons, Po Folks, Country Kitchen...Dukes, Hellmans, Miracle Whip...Chevy, Ford, Chrysler, Import.

Seems we have more than two choices in everything in life except in politics.

Originally thought? Come on Buck, you've never had an original one. Much less one, I suspect.

When has there ever been a court case where a law was struck down based on the preamble to the constitution, from the time when the drafters of the constitution were running the government till now? Cite me just one case.

I can't cite a case, which doesn't mean there isn't one, but I feel this is back and forth is becoming a tangent with no relation to my original point. What the courts have or haven't done is not the point; what they should be doing is. I'm not going to keep chasing my tail on this subject; if I wanted to engage in that kind of no-win argument I'd stay in the GOP and help them in their daily pillow fights with the Democrats.

"Rush is disgruntled"

He's also becoming more and more irrelavant.

His stuff, which used to be fresh and provactive, has become nothing but a rehash of news and information that his staff gathers from the internet and other sources and simply recycles it.

I used to hate it when Rush took a day off; now I almost welcome it.

I think success has begun to spoil the great man.
