To go off on a tangent, I remember reading that in the end (I am not TRYING to be aplocalyptic, but still) days God is angry at the Jews for not living the right way. That's a vague summation of a vague biblical passage on my part, but I assumed it was always a reference to the Jews living in sin or something...

Check out most Prophets. They were always castigating the Israelites. To paraphrase Exodus, we are a stiff necked people.
Nothing has changed.

Now I wonder if in fact it refers to the Jews not kicking the sh-t out of their oppressors for a change, and telling the rest of the world to go to hell, the way they SHOULD

That is an interpritation which would send the Tikkun-Olam crowd into fits of anger. (Tikkun Olam is a Messianic belief whereby perfecting the world will bring the Messiah. Unfortunately, all to often this belief become the basis of leftism, even at the expense of Judaism.)

In modern English Tikkun-Olam means meddling into any and all conceivable situations trying to "help make a better world"-this is the height of patronizing arrogance and is the cause of many of the troubles Jews have encountered, even though it's engaged in by a relatively small percentage of us.But that small percentage is constantly on display and very loud and high-profile.When they stick their noses in where they have no business doing so,they wind up being hated and/or resented in the end by all parties involved.I am tired of being stereotyped because of meddlers-they can cram their Tikkun-whatever where the Sun don't shine.
