Pictures were taken when Joe was assigned to the Infantry Training School and 5th MAB on Camp Pendleton, Ca. 1981.

Joe was a USN Corpsman who volunteered for duty with the FMF. He went to Great Lakes for both basic and Hospital Corps school.

This is the 47' Coast Guard boat on duty in Bandon.
This weekend and next weekend, then full time starting May 25th (till just after Labor Day)
This is the boat I was on last night after dark for some training.
This afternoon my study time was put on hold.
That's my current mentor and instuctor at the helm.
This boat rescued a 20' fishing boat that was 8 miles off shore when it's engines quit.
The Station in Coos Bay also rescued a boat today.
Starting to be a very busy time of year for the Coast Guard on the Southern Coast of Oregon.
