Perhaps people living in Europe between the two world wars felt like we do now. I don't know. History leaves out so much that we take for granted when we actually experience an event.

The children growing up now aren't even being taught History! Yes it must have been hard for the Europeans between wars. We have always felt so secure with oceans on each side, but the times are changing!
