Perhaps it is more precisely a moderate outpost on a liberal CAMPUS.

The Badger Herald hosted a fundraiser in 1971 with William F. Buckley, and in 2001, printed David Horowitz's editorial against slavery reparations. These are not the actions of a traditionally liberal college newspaper.
