I was just looking at the loss of Senate seats through illegal/immoral conduct y the national democratic party .... Once selected by the democratic governor to replace Coverdale (R) when he died, Millar's (D) re-election was all but assured by incumbancy and the "promotion" of him by newspapaers and media here in the state.

The LOSS of the seat was by democratic decree, not election.
