I take from this article Pim is going out in "grand style" in the Dutch context. I'm sure he wanted that way - and and open casket (if possible).

And to be buried in Italy (Pordenone). Interesting style.

Funerals of even high officials in the Netherlands are often private affairs. It is believed that the last time a body lay in state in the Netherlands was in 1962 when Queen Wilhelmina died.

A politition even after death.
