they are using code words of the Christian right. They send chills up my spine because what they really mean is: Let's return America to the days of illegal abortions, forced prayer in public schools, second-class citizenship for non-Christians, and gays and lesbians in the closet.

I don't think those are "code words" since the Christian right is pretty explicit about stating just those beliefs.

Absolutely! The Christian "right" is explicit about it, and there are a good number on the Christian "left" who are a bit less explicit, but who agree.

In fact, there should be a uniformity of opinion on the part of Moslems about the validity of placing the Ten Commandments in public places.

The "non-religious left" uses them as a code-word for "submit to us or we'll sue".
