His brand of rythmic heavy rock and roll laced with a campy satirical lyrical flair is some of the most energetic and influential of its genre. In fact, most credit Black Sabbath with creating the heavy metal sound.
This is a man who grew up in post-war Aston in Birmingham England and has essentially made it on his own. He recently joined the USO tour performing for our troops, and personallly visited several fire stations in New York to offer support.
He is a first rate rock musician who sang some of rock and roll's most timeless standards. As such, his recognition among DC's elite press and politicoes is frankly well-deserved.
