Pretty much the same as 11 carpenters or any other profession dying over a period of time.

The sample-pool of carpenters must be in the millions.

There are only a few hundred highly-specialized microbiologists.

When only those who further-specialized in infectious pathogens and weaponization of bio-agents start dying serially, I'd say it goes beyond statistical probability and starts falling into the 'anomoly' category.
