Norway is so safe that Norwegians leave kids in strollers on the sidewalk while the parents enter restaurants for a meal, and no one thinks anything of it.
That kind of peace of mind is a greater luxury than $200 sneakers.
And speaking of luxury items, what about Sweedish blondes? Nothing wrong with them babes an attitude adjustment wouldn't fix.
Well, some of US do.
Doesn't it strike you as just a bit odd that parents would take their baby to a restaurant and leave the child on a sidewalk, outside, while they munch salmon, brie, and rye bread?
Either leave the kid with old (enough) siblings, or with a responsible sitter AT HOME, or take your baby INTO the restaurant with you.
Crime or no crime, the sidewalk is NOT a place for infants and toddlers alone.
I was in town in Oregon today and stopped by a convenience store. Not only were the pickup trucks out front not locked, but some were left running unattended with their heaters on while the drivers went inside. They would do that in Scandinavia too, but they can't afford pickup trucks.
Of course they also sold ammo in the stores, so a thief would not get far. And everybody knows it.
