The same coping mechanisms that atheist use to fight the fear that god might exist and the reality of what will happen when they find out he does should make for an interesting event.

That doesn't make any sense. Most atheists come from religionists backgrounds. There is no reason for them to step off the plantation other than the failure of the purveyors of myths to present convincing cases.
