Then your complaint is with those who make Lincoln out to be something that he never claimed to be. To the best of my knowledge Lincoln never denied saying that he thought the black man was not his equal in the Lincoln-Douglas debates. He never denied that he proposed colonization for blacks. He did say over and again that he disagreed with slavery and thought it should end. So if you still insist on condemning Lincoln because of what he said about black equality, then you must also condemn Davis for saying as much or worse. If you condemn Lincoln for proposing colonization then you must also condemn Lee and Breckenridge for favoring the same thing. And if you condemn Lincoln for saying slavery should be ended, well I guess the southern leaders get a pass because none of them ever proposed that.
