And there is the crux of the matter. The question was "show where Lincoln considered the black inferior"? No one was questioning whether he thought they should be treated equally (and he was the main originator of the "separate but equal" mindset that permeated society until the Civil Rights Era). So, to reiterate the Lincoln quote (emphasis mine) "I say upon this occasion I do not perceive that because the white man is to have the superior position the negro should be denied everything."
