IF U.N. Secretary General Kofi Annan follows through on yesterday's announcement and disbands the United Nations' investigative mission to Jenin because of Israeli non-cooperation, expect Ariel Sharon and his government to take a major public-relations hit.

For the life of me, I cannot understand how the PA is getting "good press" from this.

Advice to Israel, take a page out of the Clinton Playbook, organize your own investigation. Get a high-ranking retired US General, some officers from NATO countries, a couple good forensic pathologists and have your own investigation. It'll be less biased than the UN and you'll have a study to point to.

While we're setting up investigations, start another group to investigate the evidence that ties Arafat and the PA to the terrorist attacks.

Reports out of Israel say that the Bush administration has agreed to support Israel's objections in return for the deal that will free Yasser Arafat from Ramallah and end the stalemate at Bethlehem's Church of the Nativity.

Deal with the devil (Arafat) and...

Annan ... could easily conclude that Israel's actions in Jenin were disproportionate, and thus did not constitute a legitimate military response.

Actually, the UN would conclude that it's a war crime for Israel to win any battle.

Israel should convene it's own commission to investigate Jenin. Of course non Israelis would be on it too. Amazing how in your face scummy the UN behaved when it placed Cornelio Sommaruga on their commission on Jenin. This ghoul said the Star of David is the same as the nazi swastika and kept Israel out of the international Red Cross

FROM CHARLES KRAUTHAMMER:

Three people have been chosen by the United Nations to judge Israel's actions in Jenin. Two are sons of Europe, and one of those is Cornelio Sommaruga. As former head of the International Committee of the Red Cross, Sommaruga spent 12 years ensuring that the only nation on earth to be refused admission to the International Red Cross is Israel. The problem, he said, was its symbol: "If we're going to have the Shield of David, why would we not have to accept the swastika?"

This man will sit in judgment of the Jews. Marx was wrong when he said that history repeats itself, the first time as tragedy, the second as farce. The second time is tragedy
