Translation: the Palestinians have concluded that even a loaded "fact-finding" mission by the UN won't support their claims, so they are abandoning it before it backfires on them. The Israelis blocked the UN fact-finding mission.

While I want to accept the Israelis recounting of what happened in Jenin, I wish some international body could be relied upon to give some account. I truly suspect that "innocents" may have been buried . . . but not necessarily because of any malice on the bad of the Israelis. I mean, from from I've read, civilians were either forced or chose to remain in Jenin and were pinned down in firefights, etc. I find it entirely rational that the Israelis asked people to leave repeatedly (why wouldn't they? . . . fewer people would mean fewer bombers, fewer bystanders getting hit, fewer killers in town to kill their own soldiers).
That said, we all know that 80% of the developed world (the Muslim world not being developed) will construe this as Israel covering up. Is the world truly so polarized and politicized over this that no independent review is possible? How about some Australian experts? (I never hear Australians talk about this conflict, maybe they would be viewed as independent.) I guess one thing that has been bothering me from the beginning is the Israelis initial explanation for not letting journalists, etc. in - that it was too dangerous and there were still too many booby traps. What?
Wouldn't that have proven the point? A few EU journalists blasted to bits by booby traps may have been an indication that the Israelis were dealing with some very bad apples and that bulldozing may have been the best alternative. Why in the world would the Israelis want to sanitize everything unless something ... uh ... less than broadcastable had happened? Now, don't get me wrong, I don't know what happened (and the pictures seem to tell an interesting story of very localized destruction), but the Israelis have been handling this like total pr fools. Have they just given up on the pr battle?

The Palestinians were reburying corpses to inflate the number of dead, and passing around $$$$$ as bribes to get people to give false testimony. And the UN is a rogues gallery. To Hell with them.

There are no innocents. The whole concept of innocence is bogus.

You are all mixed up. As usual. The IDF wanted to bury bodies as a matter of sanitation. The Palestinians wanted to use the bodies for PR purposes. Of course Israel gave in to the Palestinians out of decency. I think the UN should investigate the Passover Massacre, speaking of Massacres.

Sheesh...the Republican congressman from AZ (can't recall name, sounded great on Fox yesterday) has it totally right: there's way TOO MUCH emphasis on Israel and what the Israelis are doing and not nearly enough questioning by the media and the UN on what the Palestinians are doing. Why isn't the UN nearly as interested in the homicide bombers and Arafat? Ridiculous. If the Security Council "imposes" an "inquiry committee" on Israel it signals it's time for every liberty, freedom-loving country to finally kiss that piece-of-cr*p institution buh bye!!

Is the world truly so polarized and politicized over this that no independent review is possible?Think of it as analogous to Cuba offering to monitor our "re-counts" during the failed attempt by the Dems to steal the Florida election (which they actually did, as I recall). This makes as much sense as that. Why would Israel EVER allow some bogus "committee" from the U.N., made up of at least one Syrian by the way (Syrians are sworn enemies of Israel), to come into their democratic, civilized nation, and make any pronouncements of right or wrong to them? Especially since Israel is the nation being attacked by homocidal, suicidal, fanatic Islamists???? I just don't understand this attitude. Sorry.

Palestinians and Israelis share the gene that makes them act irrationally at the most inopportune times. Jenin is not something I'd risk economic sanctions over with an ecomomy already in the dump.
The wise move would be to accept the A-holes from the UN, and get slammedrather than be made to look like you did something much, much worse and reallyget slammed.
Now the Palestinians can say with certitude that the IDF did a Mongol number on the camp and likely make it stick. A debatable record is better than an undebatable myth.

Your post gets removed by the Mods and you repost it? That's certainly respectful of the forum. BTW - which Israelis do you mean in your post above? The Arab Israelis? The Bedouins? The South African immigrants?
