In my experience, "Unitarians" contain a high proportion of children who are the product of "mixed marriages" between Jews and Christians. Many Jews find it easier to convert to Unitarianism than to other forms of Christianity (since Unitarianism does not seem to insist on the divinity of Jesus). But that doesn't explain why Unitarians score higher than Jews.

Bingo!! You took the words out of my mouth. Every UU family I have known is generally a mixed marriage--one of whom is Jewish by birth. (Perhaps that would make every UU "church" half Jewish??)
