I got Hodgkins lymphoma at 34,and diabetes at 42.I never suspected diabetes and AO were connected until the VA said that early onset of Type 2 diabetes was a presumptive AO related disease.I'm glad you didn't get sick-some people smoke all their lives and never have ill effects-doesn't mean that smoking can't cause cancer.I think Burkett was out on a limb with that part of the book,but the rest of the book was very good.I can't get over how people who did everything to avoid service when we were in now want to be Vietnam veterans.

I'm happy you are still standing (and posting) after your illnesses. The fact that you got them at such a young age strongly indicates AO - or some other unknown crud you picked in that place at that time.
