Ron Paul was a Republican Congressman in the 1980s. Then ran for President on the Libertarian ticket in 1988. Then he returned to Congress as a Republican.
Paul is a true libertarian in his views, and votes that way. But he happens to serve as a Republican, as, I suppose, he can't win on the LP.
