"It was the best of times, it was the worst of times,

It was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness,

It was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity,

It was the spring of hope, it was the winter of despair,

We had everything before us, we had nothing before us,

We were all going direct to Heaven, we were all going direct the other way.

In short, the period was so far like the present period, that some of its noisiest authorities insisted on its being received, for good or for evil,in the superlative degree of comparison only."

--Charles Dickens, "A Tale of Two Cities",

A timely quote for this thread. Count me in as a "Bush babe."

Well, you are in good company here!

And thank you for the complete quote. It's my second favorite quote in my favorite novel.........my favorite is, of course the final quote......"It is a far, far better thing that I do than I have ever done....."

I sincerely feel that the world situation is without a doubt the worst that it has been in my lifetime, but I have never had more confidence that the man whom God has put in the White House is the best man to deal with the enormous problems we face.
