That would be the inimitable Cal Worthington. Every commercial........he'd have some exotic animal perched atop the hood of one of the cars he'd be showing off (a tiger, for instance) and would always say ".......and this is my dog, Spot!"

Cheesey..........annoying............and yet, he was a brilliant marketer. The man flat sold cars.

He did sell cars and that is a fact . I truly never thought that I would EVER forget that song ! I agree , I did not care for it as tacky as it was but he did get the job done .
