While I certainly bristle at the idea of the EU "demanding" anything of us, I don't at first blush have a problem with injecting a little competition into the US mail and municipal services. Hey, if it means better and cheaper service than the monopolies currently give us, I say hurrah. Of course, they would have to give us the same access. And the idea that SBA loans would go to foreign companies is just laughable.

And the idea that SBA loans would go to foreign companies is just laughable.Where have you been? SBA loans are frequently given to foreign nationals.

"... While I certainly bristle at the idea of the EU "demanding" anything of us, I don't at first blush have a problem with injecting a little competition into the US mail and municipal services." Just wait until you get dragged in front of an EU 'Crimes against Humanity' court for not seperating the recyclable plastics from the rest of your garbage.

Oh really? Just how much do you want to have to pay for your water?

Hey, foreigners would probably be a better risk for an SBA loan than Susan McDougal.

the idea that SBA loans would go to foreign companies is just laughable Mr. Atta applied for an SBA loan to buy a cropduster, as I recall...now why would he have done that, if they aren't granted to foreign nationals?

And that foreign-owned security company, Argenbreit, that provided us such excellent service so many airports -- convicted felons, non-citizens, etc. -- were they "better and cheaper?"

Maybe you think it is fine for foreign based companies to provide airport security also? I would have hoped that after 911, conservatives would re-evaluate the idea that the cheapest price is the only relevant consideration in determining with whom we do business.
