Oh, no doubt. We MUST update our nuke arsenal, I, personally, would like to see anti-proton catalyzed clean nukes being developed as a parallel option to "dirty" fissionable materials warheads, imagine ultra-clean nukes as an optional part of our "ordinance resources", Bin Ladden`s worst nightmare. BTW, the only way I would reduce our current arsenal would be if we could keep that fissionable warhead material for the hundreds, if not thousands, of small nuclear interceptor warheads we need for our missile defense program.
