The Saudis are in on it. Though they are trying their best to look like they are not, and the administration is leaking little stories about how uncooperative, even hostile they are being.

What's more, everyone is buying it.

The last time we ventured into Iraq it involved a bait and switch. While Iraq was looking to the sea for invasion, Stormin' Norman went in behind them. I don't think Saddam will fall for it again, so we need another surprise.

Given all the talk lately about how the Saudis won't let us use their bases and such... and how they are 'talking tough' to Bush, it looks like people are going to be surprised again.

One of the sources hinting that the Saudis were threatening Israel with their troops accidently slipped and said the Saudi 'buildup,' such as it is, was near the border to the northEAST of the capitol. No one on the thread noticed that in their haste to assume it was a threatening gesture towards Israel.

That locale is of more interest to Iraq than it is to Israel.

That and other indicators seem to say that it won't be long now.

You and I are in complete agreement here.

If this is not misinformation, Rat Mole Novak should be sent to Iraq to clear out land mines with a certain appendage of his rat/mole body!

However, if I was GW, Rummy or one of the good guys at the CIA, I would leak misinfo to Krystol and Novak 24/7 and get them to swear not to reveal the info.

That's interesting. During the Gulf war didn't all these planes go on missions from Diego Garcia? Why transfer them to Qatar this time?

This could be why we are getting the rumours of the 4 Republican Guard Divisions at the Jordanian border..Saddam may try and make a run for it to see if he can get Israel involved.

Saddam doesn't need to threaten Israel with ground troops to get them involved. Sending over a few Scuds loading with chemical, biological or nuclear material would fit the bill just fine. The trouble is, for Saddam, that he won't like the Israeli reaction much. If there was anything left of Iraq to bomb after the Israelis are through, our bombers from Diego Garcia would have beacons that they could probably see near the mouth of the Persian Gulf.

My worry is that Saddam knows full well that the jig is up for him unless he gets allies and strikes first. He and the other major terrorist nations in the area (Syria and Iran) could probably coordinate an attack on Israel and on various oil fields in the Persian Gulf, just to really screw things up. By the way, does anyone know if either Iran or Iraq have missiles that can reach Diego Garcia?
