As a Catholic, I am greatly troubled by this whole situation. Especially the Bishops who seem to feel that they know best what is good for all people. Just because you are ordained a Bishop does not give you all they wisdom & knowlege on how to treat the lowly layman. Cardinal Law & the the other Bishops should remember an old saying "Oh what tangle webs we weave when we first practice to deceive". This is a very scary time in the church because it has become apparent that each individual Diocese is a fiefdom under the control of a Bishop who is not really accountable to anybody for this actions. All these meetings with the Pope & other Bishops seem to be nothing more than a group of college professors trying to discuss a situation but no real definitive decision is reached. This is not a one or two time situation but rather a problem that goes back many decades. Beyond my relationship with my own parish, I do not know how to view the Dioceses of the Church. How can these Bishops be made to be accountable for their actions?
