In the wake of the sex-abuse scandals involving U.S. clergy, a great risk is that people may think the protection of children is not the "absolute priority of the Church," a psychiatrist warns.

"Berlin suggests that the Church "explain with clarity what it intends to do to address the problem, the decisions it will make, the measures it will implement so that all this will never happen again."

But it will continue, and it's going to get worse. A new Pope will make way for change (tolerance and acceptance of abberant behavior-- and a new, revised version of the Bible, with all the offending texts removed--absolutions and indulgences, anyone?)
