(IsraelNN.com) A authorized General Motors dealer in Texas, Texas Automotive Export, sent a fax to an Israeli client, Avi Udiz, that the company is unwilling to sell him the parts he was seeking for his Isuzu jeep because at present, they are not dealing with Israelis. The fax stated the response was a decision taken due to Israel’s actions vis-à-vis the PA. The fax was signed by company representative John Harris, who called on Udiz to pressure his country to “stop the offensive on the Palestinian people,” adding that “your country has lost the respect of the civilized world”.

The alarmed client sent letters and copies of the fax to the Prime Minister’s Office, the Foreign Ministry, and other official offices, telling Israel Radio on Wednesday morning that has also been contacted by journalists in the US seeking to publicize his story.

In the medical community, the Israel Medical Association (IMA) fears it will be ousted from the World Medical Association (WMA), an international body composed of medical organizations from 130 nations.

According to IMA Chairman Dr. Yoram Blacher, who also serves as the number two official in the WMA, Israel stands a chance of being ousted or at the very least, being told its physicians may not hold any post in the WMA. A meeting to discuss Israel’s status is scheduled to take place in Geneva next week.

Blachar warned this must be dealt with immediately and on the highest levels, pointing out that the move could have devastating results in the medical community and lead to a cessation of medical research cooperation with the world medical community as well as other sanctions.

"It's not a crime if it's not part of an agreement with the Arab sponsored boycott."

Boycotting Israel is de facto agreement with the ongoing Arab boycott of Israel. The deed itself is a violation of the law, irrespective of intent.

"It seems to me I ought to be free to do business with whomever I please (excepting members of 'protected' minorities /sarcasm)."

Yup, there's plenty of leftists who feel that way about Cuba, too; you and they should get together and petition Congress to redress your grievances. Until then, the law says that private citizens aren't allowed to conduct their own personal foreign policy initiatives (unless they're named Jesse Jackson, which is a separate issue).

I think we should pass a new Embargo Act prohibiting trade with the Arab League states.

Yeah, right...pass it tomorrow and watch the Bush economy tank to depression levels due to the lack of crude. Last I knew, Saudi was arab, Russia is now pumping at near capacity (granted they have it in the ground, getting it out is another matter) and Venezuela...well, who knows what is to happen there!
