Not a single post from the anti-Israel, pro-Pali terrorists yet? Perhaps they're waiting for the spin from Yasser's office...

They told army officers the gunmen had stolen gold and other property, including crucifixes and prayer books, and had caused damage. Oh, puhleeze! I'm sure they just wanted to pray! < /sarcasm >
If this wasn't the Church of the Nativity, I'd suggest a bunker-buster.
To: Shermy
Give them 1 hour to free all hostages in the church. One hour to leave, naked to the waist, arms up and no weapons. If the one hour deadline is ignored, make an announcement that we are very sorry, but terrorism and hostage taking can not and will not be tolerated. Then go in with extreme prejudice.
No more chances, no more playing nice, no more being the asses of the "civilized" world.
To: abwehr
Now as to this scum still holed up inside. Gas them. Pipe a non-lethal, skin-absorbed agent into the building and put them asleep. Then remove terrorists, revive priests, execute terrorists, preferrably with lard-lubed bullets.
Could be done in a lazy afternoon.

I have not ever seen a sign of shame by any mohammedan over any outrage committed by any other mohammedan for any reason whatsoever no matter how trivial or idiotic. These(as Mary bin Poppins might say) moronic and merciless people have declared war on the rest of humanity and need to be and deserve to be hammered by the rest of mankind into submission, annihilation,or hopefully eventually into some inspiration which will lead them to embrace something constructive to believe in.

It's not the existing church on the site that makes the church of the nativity holy. It's the fact that christ was born there that makes it holy. If the Palestinians demolish the building, the site will still be holy. Your point about the hypocricy of the palestinians is well taken. They wouldn't sit by and allow desacration of their own holy sites.
To: Shermy
Throughout the past weeks, the IDF has given food and medication to the clergy held
hostage inside; the other Palestinians held hostage by the gunmen receive water and medication.
Yep, sounds like the work of a bunch of them there massacre-ing Israelis.
(lowering gain on sarcasm/cynicism volume control...)
Well, I'm sure most of the major media outlets will warp truth enough to show the
world how the Palestinians are being tortured during this event.

We expect the Palestinians to act like pathological lying, murderous scum. What we don't expect are some of those here at FreeRepublic to aid, abet, and sympathize with their actions and believe and help prorogate their lies! DO WE TULL, et. al. ???!!!

Putz,,,if this report is true (remember the source - The Jerusalem Post) why would you think I'd support this crime?
To: NativeNewYorker
The Media Whores are willing accomplices of the new Nazis, the Palestinian terrorists who target every Jewish man, woman, and child for death. The Media Whores wants to report anything, including flagrant lies, that makes Israel look bad, and covers up the truth when it makes the Palestinians look bad. The Media Whores are a large part of the problem.

Putz,,,if this report is true (remember the source - The Jerusalem Post) why would you think I'd support this crime? Why?! Because you support them when they do even greater crimes, THAT'S WHY!
To: Jethro Tull
You're the putz if you think that because an article is in the Jerusalem Post, which has NEVER had its reputation for truthfulness questioned by any non-Arab source, it is false. The monks met with the press. That you don't like what they said is too bad.

This whole thing is driven by the media. They are purposefully spinning, purposefully inviting inflammatory guests, purposefully reporting lies as fact, purposefully ignoring anything inconvenient to their agenda, and purposefully reporting on that which does.
I don't know what their agenda truly is. I think even they don't know it, but I wish they would spend some solitary time to think it through.
To: Shermy
Are you kidding? They will slant it. I know many Armenians, and many of them have a deep distrust of Muslims, esp Turks, and Armenians in the Armenian Diaspora (Syria, Lebanon, Turkey, USA) that I know think Islam is a crock and hate Islamics.
This will be spun as Armenians siding with Israel against the Muslims.

Well they haven't 'stolen' it yet, at least technically. They are still inside and I doubt very much if the Israeli Army will allow them to 'leave' with a monks gold cross or anything else that belongs to the church.Unfortunately, the Israelis aren't ten feet tall. If they were, this would not be going on, period. A few of the Palestinian Authority soldiers (a.k.a. policemen, a.k.a. terrorists) may have already escaped from the compound with sacred loot. As for the Israelis being able to search each of the fighters as they leave the church, we'll see. I'm sure they would love to, but the Palestinian side will probably push hard to not have this as a feature of any deal.

Back in the 60's I used to listen to shortwave radio, and Radio Moscow was one of the stations.
I remember how they only told the part of the story they wanted to tell with their slant. Radio Kiev was more honest and NOT the same bunch.
Today's MediaWhores (TV, most papers, radio news) are so much like the old Radio Moscow it's scary. I pay no attention to them whatsoever.
The best source for news is FreeRepublic.

Since when did Denmark become part of Germany? Oh, got to love the Communist News Network.
